Scott Fuller Wins the Street Stock Shootout as South Arcade Speedway Closes Out the Season and Crowns the 2011 Track Champions
by Charlie Langlois
August 27, 2011 – Delevan, NY
The first annual Schwab Aggregates Street Stock Shootout closed out the South Arcade Speedway season in dramatic fashion as Scott Fuller captured the $500 prize on Saturday August 27. Other winners on Championship night were Josh Pangrazio in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods, Nick Snayczuk in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks and Zach Hamer in the Arcade Tractor Supply Company Pure Stocks. Davey Lowe captured the Lauterborn Electric Enduro.
Track championships were also decided as Josh Wilcox captured the title in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks by one point over Andy Michael. Other champions crowned included Vic Vena in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods, Steve Mowery in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks and Curt Pastorius in the Arcade Tractor Supply Company Pure Stocks.
The Street Stock Shootout presented itself as a double edge sword as not only was the biggest payday of the year on the line but the tightest championship battle in track history found Andy Michael with a two point lead over Josh Wilcox to begin the night.
Michael captured his heat and Wilcox finished second in his qualifier so Michael began the Street Stock Shootout with a three point lead. He also picked the pole in the redraw while Wilcox drew the number six pill.
At the drop of the green of the Street Stock Shootout, Michael jumped to the lead followed by Ted Mascho, Dan Giboo, Nate Arnold and Randy Taylor. Mascho and Giboo were all over Michael and after a few early race cautions, Giboo found the bottom of the racetrack to his liking and passed both to take the top spot on lap 6. Each caution found Wilcox to the pits to replace tires and repair damage to his machine. He would restart in the rear.
Giboo’s head of the pack run was short lived as he spun on lap 8 to bring out the caution. Again, Wilcox was pitside.
On the restart, Michael led Scott Fuller and Mascho but the man on the move was Chris Austin who charged into second on lap 9. Michael and Austin proceeded to put on a tremendous battle for the lead as Austin pulled alongside each lap.
Halfway in the 25 lap feature showed Michael, Austin, Scott Fuller, Levi Watson and Mascho your top five. Wilcox had still not cracked the top ten. The caution flew on lap 15 as Watson spun. Wilcox and Andy Eastman also spun to avoid the stalled machine.  Wilcox again joined the back of the pack.
Michael and Austin continued their crowd pleasing duel as green reappeared. Wilcox motored through the field and began to pick off cars each lap as Michael held off Austin.
The complexion of the race changed on lap 22. Into turn three with three laps to go, Michael and Austin came together. Michael went around and Austin spun into the turn four pit opening. Austin was ok but was through for the night. Now it was Michael who would go to the rear of the field. Scott Fuller assumed command with Wilcox fifth and Michael outside the top ten for the restart.
Green was back out as Mascho put the pressure on Fuller and Michael sliced his way through the field. The white flag indicated Mascho had one more shot at Fuller as Wilcox was able to displace Steve Mowery for fourth and Michael was eighth.
Fuller of Little Genesee was able to hold off Masco for the $500 to win payday. Michael gained two more spots on the last lap to finish sixth but fell one point shy of Wilcox who finished fourth.
“The only shot I would have had (at Michael and Austin) would have been the last lap. I want to thank all of the people who got me here,” stated Fuller in victory lane.  Mascho, Watson, Wilcox and Giboo completed the top five. Post race found Watson disqualified which moved everyone up one position and elevated Wilcox to third, Giboo fourth and Michael fifth. Michael garnered the majority of the lap money as he led the most circuits.
It was an intense duel that highlighted the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods feature as Josh Pangrazio and Vic Vena traded the top spot early. As the front pair raced hard, Mike Eschrich and Darren Tarabori waged war for third.
Pangrazio and Vena were glued together the entire distance and Pangrazio was able to hold off leading feature event winner and track champion Vena to record his first win of the year.
“It was close a couple of times there,” the Oakfield resident stated. Vena, Eschrich, Tarabori and Carl Ballinger rounded out the top five.
Nick Snayczuk grabbed the top spot at the start of the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks and was able to thwart the advances of Kyle Babcock. Brad Ullman sat third while Steve Mowery kept point rival Riley Ellison in his sights in a battle for fourth.
Ullman got second from Babcock on lap 12 but Snayczuk of West Valley was able to hold off Ullman for win number two on the season. “Brad’s (Ullman) a good runner and so is Babcock, they always run me clean, I want to thank my dad for everything,” he said. Ullman, Babcock, Ellison and Mowery were your top five and Mowery took the championship.
Zach Hamer and Curt Pastorius had the crowd on the edge of their seats all race long in the Arcade Tractor Supply Company Pure Stock feature with Hamer able to get through lapped traffic unscathed to take down his second win in a row.
“My throttle kept sticking, I wasn’t sure I was going to make it,” Hamer of Belfast said. Pastorius settled for second and took the championship while Butch Jackson, James Brown and Rod Winans were third through fifth.

Brent Harris Crowned “King of the Mini Stocks” as Venuto, Bogino, Vena, Wilcox and Hamer Grace Victory Lane at South Arcade Speedway on August 6

by Charlie Langlois

August 6, 2011 – Delevan, NY

The Mini Stocks took center stage along with the visiting Outlaw Sportsman Modifieds and 600 Mini Sprints as Brent Harris claimed the $500 winners prize in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team “King of the Mini Stocks” event. Other winners on Nu-Way Sanitation Autograph night were John Venuto in the Outlaw Sportsman Modifieds, A.J. Bogino in the Triangle S Farms/Speedy Cleaners of Rochester $500 to win Mini Sprints, Vic Vena in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods, Josh Wilcox in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks and Zach Hamer in the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks.

Jason Hall took the lead at the start of the 25 lap D & H Mini Horse Pull Team “King of the Mini Stocks” event followed by Brent Harris, Rick Bump, Kyle Babcock and Dan Lockwood.  The battle was on between Hall and Harris with Harris able to prevail at the stripe on lap 5. Three wide racing was the norm throughout the pack as Brad Ullman worked his way into the top five one lap later.

Halfway showed Harris with the lead over Babcock, Ullman, C.J. Irons and Hall. The trio of Babcock, Ullman and Irons exchanged positions each lap and took turns trying to wrestle the lead from Harris.

As they came down for two to go, Ullman was able to grab the runner-up spot. He made a last ditch effort on the final lap but Harris of Bradford, PA was able to hold off Ullman to become the “King of the Mini Stocks” and collect the $500 first place prize. Ullman settled for a hard fought second as Irons, Babcock and Hall completed the top five. Harris also picked up the bulk of the lap money donated by Race Chaser Joe.

Ray Smith was out front at the drop of the green in the Outlaw Sportsman Modified feature followed by John Venuto, Ross Vleck, Ray Bliss and Dick Park Jr. Early race favorite Bliss made contact with the wall on lap 1 and retired to the pit area. On lap 2, the caution was out as Colton Chappius slowed on the backstretch.

On the restart, Venuto took control but the caution flew again on lap 4 as Smith and Ricky Newton spun in turn 3.

Venuto led as the field returned to green but the show was put on by Ricky Newton who sliced his way through the field.  With Venuto in control, Newton took third from Vleck on lap 15 and grabbed second from Park Jr on lap 18.

Newton gave it his all but Vleck was not to be denied as the Elba native was able take the 25 lap win over Newton, Vleck, Park Jr and Eric Delong.

John Smith led the Triangle S Farms/Speedy Cleaners of Rochester Mini Sprints to green with Jeff Farnham, Mike Livecchi, A.J. Bogino and Mickey Ciliberto in tow. Bogino was on the move as he used the bottom of the racetrack to wrestle the lead from Smith on lap 3. Nick Cooper used the high side to motor forward and blasted around Smith to grab second on lap 6.

Cooper set sail after Bogino but Bogino of Webster was able to put some distance on the field in the caution free event to take his first ever win at the track and the $500 first place check. Cooper settled for second, a late race battle for third fell to Livecchi with Smith and Farnham fourth and fifth.

Vic Vena was on point and out front at the start of the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mod main followed by Rich Michael, Carl Ballinger, Justin Chaddock and Mike Eschrich.

Michael hounded Vena early but as the laps ticked off, Vena pulled away. Chaddock brought out the caution on lap 11 and this set up a four lap shootout between Vena and Michael.

Michael gave it one last shot on the inside on the restart, but Vena was too strong and the Shinglehouse, PA runner picked up his fourth win of the year. Michael, Ballinger, Chaddock and Eschrich completed the top five.

The luck of the redraw placed two time winner Josh Wilcox on the front row for the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks and he was out front followed by Barry Tingue, Dan Giboo, Scott Fuller and Nate Arnold.

The Street Stocks were four wide as they came around to complete lap 1 and everyone survived, however, the caution flew for a five car pileup in turn two on lap 5 which involved many of the front runners including Tingue and Michael.

On the restart, Giboo put the pressure on Wilcox but was overhauled for second by the high flying Michael on lap 9.  For the remaining laps, Michael would alternately gain and loose ground to Wilcox with Wilcox of Franklinville able to cross the stripe first and become the first three time winner in Street Stock competition. Michael, Giboo, Fuller and Andy Eastman rounded out the top five.

The undefeated season of Curt Pastorius in the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks came to an end as defending track champion Zach Hamer of Belfast would go wire to wire to nail down his first win of the year. John Ellwood crossed the line in second and third went to Butch Jackson. Pastorius and Ely would spin on lap 10, restart in the rear and come back to finish fourth and fifth respectively.

South Arcade Speedway is back in action on Saturday August 27 as Championship night will offer the first annual $500 to win Street Stock Shootout along with the Pangrazio-Mac Tools E-Mods, Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks and the D&H Mini Horse Pull Team 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks. The show starts at 6:00 pm.

Pastorius Wins Pure Stock Stampede as Tarabori, Wilcox and Ullman Grace the Winners Circle at

 South Arcade Speedway

by Charlie Langlois July 23, 2011 – Delevan, NY

Tractor Supply Co.: The stuff you need out here

The Pure Stocks took center stage Saturday at South Arcade Speedway as the first annual Arcade-Olean-Springville Tractor Supply Company Pure Stock Stampede was held with Curt Pastorius the winner of the $500 first place check. Other winners on Wix Filters Night were Darren Tarabori in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods, Josh Wilcox in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks and Brad Ullman in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks.

The incredible Arcade-Olean-Springville Tractor Supply Company Pure Stock Stampede which showcased four leaders and seven lead changes saw Curt Pastorius and Fred Ely on the front row. The duo exchanged the lead on lap 1 and 2 with Pastorius ahead at the stripe for lap 3 over Fred Ely, Dana Speta, Steve Ely and Zach Hamer.
Pastorius and Ely pulled away from the field and contact between the duo on lap 12 found Pastorius spin which brought out the caution. Pastorius went to the back of the pack and Fred Ely was put to the rear due to contact with Pastorius.
Butch Jackson assumed command on the restart ahead of Blane Krott as Pastorius and Fred Ely knifed their way through the field from the rear. Leader Jackson got a flat under green and Bud Barone was your new leader on lap 17.
Fred Ely and Pastorius soared to the front and overtook Barone on lap 18.  As Ely inched ahead, contact again on lap 19 found Fred Ely go around which caused the caution once more. Fred Ely went to the back and Pastorius was put to the tail due to contact with Fred Ely.
Barone was your new leader over James Brown as the green waived with five laps to go. Once more, Pastorius and Ely turned on the afterburners and Pastorius of Rushford passed Barone with three laps to go to grab the wild and wooly first annual Pure Stock Stampede over Barone, Fred Ely, James Brown and Rod Winans.
“The last time I was in a race like this it was two years ago and it was a demolition derby,” said Pastorius, who extended his point lead and remained undefeated for the year. A post race disqualification of Barone moved Krott to a top five finish.
In the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods feature, Darren Tarabori took control at the drop of the green over Josh Pangrazio, Vic Vena, Justin Chaddock and Carl Ballinger. Pangrazio stayed with Tarabori throughout the first half of the race, but the Galeton, PA., chauffer was able to eventually pull away and survive a late race caution to capture his first feature of the year.
“I think I started losing a cylinder at the end,” Tarabori said in victory lane. “I could feel it right after that restart with a few laps to go.”
Pangrazio battled with Vena for second with Pangrazio able to take the runner-up position at the stripe. Vena finished third and maintained his point lead as Chaddock came home fourth and Ritter secured a late race fifth place finish.
Josh Wilcox powered out front at the start of the Schwab Aggregates Street Stock feature ahead of Andy Eastman, Hiram Clayson, Scott Fuller and Kevin Dzuroff.
The red flag flew on lap 2 as Gene Peterson barrel rolled down the front straightaway in a violent crash. Fortunately, Peterson was able to walk away from the machine but the car was heavily damaged.
Wilcox set the pace under green and the complexion of the race changed dramatically as a six car accident near the front of the field in turn four on lap 7 involved Dzuroff, Eastman, Andy Michael in the Ted Mascho machine, Dan Giboo, Jeff Hellwig and Barry Tingue. All were able to continue.
From there on out, it turned into a two car battle between Wilcox and Fuller as Wilcox held off the advances of Fuller to capture win number two on the year. “I watched Scott (Fuller) in the heat, I knew he was fast and I definitely knew he was there in the feature,” Wilcox of Franklinville stated.
Fuller settled for a hard earned second as Michael came all the way from the back to take third and keep his point lead. Hellwig and Eastman rounded out the top five.
Brad Ullman and Randy Lananger swapped the top spot early in the going of the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stock main with Ullman out front for good on lap 3. Once in the lead, it was clear sailing for the Allegany native as he took down his first win of the year and became the fourth winner in four events.
A race long battle between Riley Ellison, Kyle Babcock and Steve Mowery found Ellison able to pick up his best finish of the year with a fine second place. Babcock, Mowery and first timer Jason Landcastle in a car that competed on asphalt in Perry, N.Y. the night before rounded out the top five. Mowery continues as the point leader.
Davey Lowe of Eldred, PA. captured the Enduro and a guaranteed spot in the Black Rock Speedway “Big One” show.

BOB McKERROW & SONS RV SALES NIGHT

Vena and Pastorius Remain Undefeated as Fuller and Wilcox Win For the First Time at South Arcade Speedway

by Charlie Langlois

July 9, 2011 – Delevan, NY

Vic Vena in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods and Curt Pastorius in the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks remain undefeated in 2011 at the South Arcade Speedway as they each captured a victory on Saturday July 9. First time winners on Bob McKerrow & Sons RV Sales night were Josh Wilcox in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks and Scott Fuller in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks.

In the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods feature, Al Brewer powered to the top spot at the drop of the green followed by Vic Vena, Carl Ballinger, Jeff Johnson and George Ritter.

A caution on lap 2 for a Ballinger spin in turn two set up a side by side restart with Brewer on the inside and Vena on the outside. On the restart, Brewer and Vena battled and Vena used the top of the racetrack to wrestle the lead from Brewer on lap 3.

Vena opened up a few car lengths on Brewer and Brewer’s fine run ended on lap 12 when he got a flat tire. On the restart, Vena held off Jeff Johnson to go three for three on the year.
“Brewer was a handful and ran real good,” Vena of Shinglehouse, PA. said afterwards. "I tried setting a track record on the last lap and I want to thank all of the fans for coming out.” Vena was not only fast on this night but he was also lucky as his right rear tire went flat during his victory lane interview. Johnson took second at the finish followed by Ballinger, Ritter and Brewer.
Joe Chamberlain led the start of the unbelievable Schwab Aggregates Street Stock feature with Josh Wilcox, Critter Hemphill, Zach Hamer and Barry Tingue in tow.  While the battle waged upfront, Dan Giboo and Andy Michael worked their way through the field.
Giboo entered the top five on lap 3 and one lap later made the move of the year as he threaded the needle to go from fourth to first on the backstretch. At the same time, Michael followed Giboo and slotted into second.
Michael hustled his way around Giboo one lap later only to have the caution negate the pass. On the restart, leader Giboo took the high side and on lap 6, Michael bolted into the lead.
Michael’s lead lasted only two laps as mechanical problems coasted him to a stop in turn. Giboo was caught behind Michael which allowed Jeff Hellwig to grab the top spot.
Giboo again asserted himself on the restart as he overtook Hellwig on lap 9. Giboo was now under assault by both Wilcox and Hellwig.
Bad luck befell leader Giboo on lap 14 as he coasted to the pits which produced the sixth lead change as Wilcox became the fifth different leader of the race.
Over the final six laps, Hellwig pressured Wilcox but the Franklinville runner was able to hold him off for his first win of the year. “He (Hellwig) showed his nose a couple of times; I sure knew he was there.” Wilcox stated. Hellwig crossed the line in second followed by Barry Tingue Jr, Hemphill and George Peterson. In post race technical inspection, Hellwig was disqualified from his second place finish which elevated Barry Tingue to fifth.
Scott Fuller in relief of Steve Mowery and Brad Ullman paced the field in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stock main with Dave Burdick, Kurt Babcock and Joe Boylan in positions three through five.
Fuller and Ullman battled the entire 15 laps in a race that was punctuated by flip down the backstretch by 2011 winner Nick Snayczuk on lap 9. Snayczuk was uninjured in the accident.
Fuller of Little Genesee, a former full time runner on the circuit, stated in victory lane, “See, I can still do it!” as he was able to capture the win by a half car length in his first visit to the track this year.  Ullman earned a well deserved second as Joe Boylan, Rick Bump and Chris Paar completed the top five.
In the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks, Curt Pastorius had the lead at the start followed by John Ellwood, Fred Ely, Bud Barone and Rod Winans.
Pastorius would put some distance on the field as the big battle was between Ellwood and Fred Ely for second. Fred Ely was able to get the better of Ellwood on lap 9 and began his pursuit of Pastorius.
Time was running out until a caution flew with three laps to go. Over the final laps, Fred Ely mustered a challenge but Pastorius of Rushford was able to hold on for his third win of the year. “I didn’t want to see that caution. I knew it was either going to be Fred (Ely) or John (Elwood) that was going to be there”. Pastorius said. Fred Ely, Ellwood, Rod Winans and Steve Ely rounded out the top five.
South Arcade Speedway is back in action on Saturday July 23 as Wix Filters presents the 100 Nights of Racing four-star program of Pangrazio-Mac Tools E-Mods, Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks, D&H Mini Horse Pull Team 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks and the first annual Arcade-Olean-Springville Tractor Supply Company Pure Stock Stampede extra distance race.  There will also be a Blackrock Speedway “Big One” $10,000 to win Enduro qualifier. IF YOU DID NOT MAKE IT TO SOUTH ARCADE SPEEDWAY SATURDAY, YOU MISSED A GREAT NIGHT OF RACING ON A SUPER TRACK.

South Arcade Speedway Beats the Weather as Vena, Michael, Pastorius and Snayczuk Capture Feature Events
by Charlie Langlois
June 25, 2011 – Delevan, NY- Neither fog nor rain nor gloom of night shall stay these swift drivers from their appointed laps was the motto Saturday June 25, as South Arcade Speedway waited out the inclement weather on Sixt Lumber night to get a full card of racing in.
Although the show started late due to the rain, the fans in attendance were rewarded with a great night of competition as Vic Vena in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods. Andy Michael in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks and Curt Pastorius in the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks captured their second wins of the year while Nick Snayczuk in the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks took down his first victory of the season.
In the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods feature, Vic Vena jumped to the lead from his pole position start followed by Darren Tarabori and Rich Michael. With Vena on the point, the battle was on for the runner-up slot between Tarabori and Michael with Michael trying every trick in the book to wrestle second from the high flying Tarabori.
Just past halfway, Michael was able to overtake Tarabori and then set sail after Vena. At the same time, Kyle Inman continued to pressure Josh Pangrazio for fourth.  As the laps wound down, Michael was unable to get to the back bumper of Vena as the Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania chauffer went on the grab his second win of the season. “When you beat Rich Michael, you beat one of the best”, stated Vena in victory lane. Michael settled for second followed by Tarabori, Pangrazio and Inman.
Andy Michael moved out from his front row starting position to grab the top spot in the Schwab Aggregates Street Stock feature with Joe Chamberlain, John Miller substituting for Bruno Mowery, Dan Giboo and Scott DeRock in positions two through five. Chamberlain hounded Michael for a number of laps while Josh Wilcox began his charge to the front.
Wilcox moved into the top five on lap 2 and within two more laps had grabbed third from Miller. Chamberlain made a bold move in turn 1 on lap five to take the top spot from Michael but looped it to bring out the caution. This moved Wilcox into second and the restart found Michael and Wilcox on the front row.
As racing resumed, Wilcox used the outside of the racetrack to pressure leader Michael as Giboo, DeRock and Miller waged a three way war for third.  Michael was not about to give up the lead and the Allegheny resident was able to take it to the checkered flag for win number two on the year. “We’ve had some problems at other tracks but my car is running real good here” Michael said afterwards. Wilcox settled for a well deserved second as Giboo, DeRock and a rebounding Chamberlain completed the top five.
Nick Snayczuk and Dan Lockwood brought the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks to green and Snayczuk edged Lockwood to lead lap 1. Riley Ellison, Brad Ullman and opening night winner Steve Mowery completed the top five.
While the intense two and three wide duel up front behind leader Snayczuk was fought between Lockwood, Ellison, Ullman and Mowery, all eyes were on Randy Lananger who rocketed through the pack from his last starting position.
Lananger picked off a car a lap while Ullman took second and Mowery took third on lap 6.  Snayczuk started to open up some distance on the field as three wide racing continued throughout the event. Lananger closed in on the front group as he moved into fourth on lap 8.
It looked like it would be clear sailing for Snayczuk but a late race caution bunched the field. On the restart, Ullman chased Snayczuk but the West Valley runner was not to be denied and he took the victory in his first visit to the speedway since 2009. “I had a good starting spot and although I haven’t been here in awhile, I remembered how to drive this track”, he said.
Snayczuk’s win guaranteed him a starting position in the August 6 South Arcade Speedway “King of the Mini Stocks” special event. Ullman, Mowery, Lananger and Ellison finished in positions two through five. The next race that will award a guaranteed spot in the “King of the Mini Stocks” will take place at Allegheny Mountain Raceway on Sunday July 3.
Rod Winans blasted out to set the pace at the beginning of the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks but was overhauled for the number one position by Curt Pastorius before one lap was complete. Steve Ely and Jason Evans raced side by side for third.
Pastorius set a blistering pace while Fred Ely powered through the field from his back row starting spot. Lap after lap, Steve Ely and Evans battled for second with Fred Ely able to get around both as the crossed flags signaled halfway.
Fred Ely was relentless in his pursuit of leader Pastorius and as in the Mini Stock feature, a late race caution bunched up the field.  On the restart, Fred Ely gave it his all but Rushford’s Pastorius was not to be denied and he took down his second win of the 2011 campaign.  Fred Ely, Evans, Dale Hamer and Rod Winans garnered top five finishes.
South Arcade Speedway is back in action on Saturday July 9 as Bob McKerrow and Sons RV Sales presents a four-star program of Pangrazio-Mac Tools E-Mods, Schwab Aggregates Street Stocks, Arcade Tractor Supply Company Pure Stocks and the D&H Mini Horse Pull Team 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks.

Sixt, Vena, Michael, Mowery, Pastorius and Mitchell Victorious as South Arcade Speedway Opens the 2011 Season
by Charlie Langlois
May 21, 2011 – Delevan, NY- It was FOAR Score Fan Club, Armed Forces night as South Arcade Speedway opened the 2011 season on Saturday May 21 as Adam Sixt captured the Fastrak Late Models and Vic Vena was victorious in the Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods. Andy Michael (Street Stocks), Steve Mowery (D & H Mini Horse Pull Team Mini Stocks), Curt Pastorius (Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks) and Larry Mitchell (Enduro) rounded out the feature winners.
In the Fastrak Late Model feature, Adam Sixt and Junior Peters brought the field down to green as Sixt took the lead at the start. As the front duo came around to complete lap 2, Peters powered by Sixt to take the point but Sixt returned the favor and grabbed the top spot back on lap 3.
The front pair began to pull away from the field and put on a crowd pleasing duel with Sixt of Sardinia able to hold off the hard charging Peters the rest of the way for his first win of 2011. “Both the top and the bottom of the racetrack were equal in the first half of the race but the top became the fast way around at the end”, stated Sixt in victory lane. Peters had to settle for a well deserved second while Brad Mesler and TJ Downs completed the top four.

The Pangrazio Mac Tools E-Mods start found Vic Vena jump out front with Josh Pangrazio in tow. Vena could not shake Pangrazio and the pair raced wheel to wheel lap after lap.
With the white flag flying, Vena and Pangrazio flashed by starter Curtis Peters’ glued together. As they headed down the backstretch and into turn three for the final time, Pangrazio made one last ditch effort to slide under Vena.
Pangrazio’s bold move was all for naught as he lost the handle and spun. This allowed Vena of Shinglehouse, PA. to power off turn four uncontested for the feature win.  Defending track champion Carl Ballinger grabbed the runner-up slot and Pangrazio kept his car under power to cross the line third.
Polesitter Andy Michael led as the green flag waved in the Street Stock feature as Bruno Mowery, Barry Tingue, Dan Giboo and Jeff Hellwig completed the top five.
Mowery put the pressure on Michael for four circuits but on lap 5, Michael started to open up some distance on Mowery and the field.  As Mowery ran in second, Giboo grabbed third from Tingue one lap later.
Michael was on cruise control but the Giboo and Tingue show would continue the rest of the way with Tingue able to retake third in the closing laps.
Michael of Allegheny would lead wire to wire for a commanding win over Mowery as Tingue, Giboo and Hellwig completed the top five.
Fast Fred Ely took command of the Arcade Tractor Supply Pure Stocks from his number one starting spot but it was former track champion Curt Pastorius who grabbed the lead the first time into turn one. Pastorius and Ely pulled away from the pack as Ely looked high and low for a way around Pastorius.
After a multi-lap side by side fight, Ely took the lead on lap 7. As Ely garnered the top spot, Mike Ely brought out the caution.  Going back to the last completed lap allowed Pastorius the preferred high line on the double file restart.
Pastorius would re-assume command on the ensuing green and the two would battle the rest of the way with Pastorius out of Rushford able to hold off the advances of Ely to capture the win. Ely took a hard fought second followed by Dale Hamer, Jason Evans and Rod Winans.
Kyle Babcock took the point at the commencement of the the D & H Mini Horse Pull Team 4 cylinder feature while Dave Burdick, Steve Mowery, Rick Bump and Dan Lockwood ran in positions two through five.
Burdick took over the number one position on lap 2 but the lead changed hands again on lap 3 as Mowery bolted out front. The lead swap was not about to end as Babcock overtook Mowery on lap 6 as Bump, Burdick and Riley Ellison raced hard for third.
Babcock and Mowery set a blistering pace and turned the race into a two car battle. The torrid speeds were too much for Babcock and the leader got a right rear flat on lap 12. This allowed Mowery to once again take control and the Portville resident took down the win over Bump, Ellison, Burdick and Randy Lanager.
The Enduro featured a battle right down to the wire as Larry Mitchell of Smethport, PA. edged Joe Boyland for the win and the guaranteed spot in the Black Rock Speedway Big One $10,000 to Win Enduro in November.
South Arcade Speedway is back in action on Saturday June 25 with a five-star program of Fastrak Late Models, Pangrazio-Mac Tools E-Mods, Street Stocks, Arcade Tractor Supply Company Pure Stocks and the D&H Mini Horse Pull Team 4 Cylinder Mini Stocks.
